When I was in Thailand I never had any hobbies. After I came here and decided not to work professionally, I have more time to myself and I thought I should have some hobbies.

One morning in 2004 I watched a programme called Joy of Painting presented by Bob Ross. He was a very good painting teacher who made me think that painting is very easy and I would like to give it a try. So I bought a painting-by-numbers kit to try. It was my first ever painting in my life; I did not count the poor efforts in art class when I was a kid. It is ok if you look at it from a distance. After the first painting, my husband took me to almost all the art shops he could possibly find in our area and bought me everything I wanted to start the next painting. I have done 5 paintings so far.

In 2007, I read an article in the Leisure Painter magazine. It was about coloured pencils. I was so surprised how coloured pencils could create a very nice and realistic picture. So I started looking around the internet about coloured pencils. I bought some coloured pencils sets, graphite sets and books. I tried a bit of coloured pencils and graphite and found out that I like graphite more at the moment.
