Portrait of Rhea - October 2005

Rhea
  • Acrylics on paper
  • 11″x8″

This is my fifth painting. It is a portrait of Rhea. Rhea is Lesley’s dog and Lesley is my mother-in-law’s hairdresser. My mother-in-law showed the portrait of Taggie to her and she wondered if I could do one for her dog. This painting was quite difficult for me especially around the ears. Most people said the eye was good. Comments are welcome. Mum and dad said Lesley liked the painting a lot. She wrote me a letter to thank me and some gifts in return for the painting.

I think it is lovely. It captures the dog’s willingness to please.

Hi Aum, It’s very nice. You have a lot of improvement. I also like eyes and ears. Take care, Lha.

Absolutely fantastic! I like it. I love dogs, cats, horses, all kinds of animals.

The portrait is very good. I can see it properly now - it wasn’t very easy last Friday.

This is what Lesley wrote to me after she recieved the painting.

Dear Aum,
My husband and I are absolutely delighted with the painting you have done of Rhea, it is fantastic, we have put it into an artist shop to be mounted properly. Mrs McLean said you didn’t want money for doing it, so I have bought you a gift that I will leave it with Mrs McLean. I hope you like it.

Thank again Aum, you have a real talent!!
Your gratefully,
Lesley
