The Alley - February 2005

The alley in Vezenobre, South of France
  • Acrylics on paper
  • 8″x11″

I painted this picture from the photo I took when I visited Vezenobres in July, 2003. There was me in the original photo but I do not like to paint myself in my painting. My husband likes this painting a lot because this is my second picture I painted in my life. I did not count the one that I painted to follow the exercise from the painting book. He framed this picture and hung it in the hall way, so everyone can see it.

le village provencial de l’ahhhhhhhhh….a et la description de matin avant le monde le peint bruit…. It’s lovely. The perspective seems a bit skewed; however, perhaps it’s the photo vs. the actual painting. I can see the progress between this one and the church — please continue to post.

although the building is leaning in, that doesn’t bother me. I like the alley view and the little scene at the other end, but the value and color on the left wall wouldn’t be the same as the inside wall. Nor would the alley road. Just a few alterations would make it perfect.

I think what Bev is saying is that she would dump a couple buckets of paint on it, throw it in the floor and walk on it. I like it. Having been to places like this, I think the “lean” is indicative of the period when these buildings were constructed.

very nice perspective.

Ya know, Naviguesser, You’re a totally dishonest person. Did it look like I dumped a couple of buckets of paint on it? Gosh, you sure sound like Insura.

Who izz zis pearsun who keeps pulling your pigtail and putting ze frog down your dress, Bev? I think he’s more or less playing with you…I think? Just turn around and whisper the word “commitment” and I’m certain he’ll head for the hills!!!! I think perspective was the wrong word for me to use here…I’m not certain what word I should’ve used…

I love the tilt. I hope its stays. Great brick work too. Im drawn to the red roof tiles down center. I always love to view old architectural buildings… all that brick, concrete, cement, clay, steel…sweat…ooo… resulting into such strengthy, imaginative creations! Very nice work. Psst…..he, he about the pig tail pulling.
