Back to the vet…

Last night while we were in the bedroom HG and I heard a yelp from Pepper’s crate. We took Pepper out to see if there was something bothering him. We tried to touch all his body but he did not show any sign of pain. So we put him back in the crate. It did not take long before we could hear his snore. We were a bit worry about Pepper.

In the morning about 4:50 am, HG woke up and then woke me up because he could smell something. It was the smell of Pepper’s sick. Yes, he did it again. It was quite a lot on his towel. He was sitting in the far back corner away from his sick. I told him to stay put while HG was getting dress and I was trying to clean up his crate. HG took Pepper out to the wood after that. HG said Pepper had diarrhea. We put him back to his crate to sleep for another couple hours. When about 8:40 am when I finished having my shower I walked pass his crate I could smell something strange. Pepper vomited again while I was in the shower. After I cleaned up his crate I took him out to pee in the garden. He refused to drink or eat anything. I called HG and told him to make an appointment with the vet. We got 2:10 pm appointment. So HG took half day off and came home at about lunch time. Pepper slept in his crate almost all morning. I took him out to pee twice and gave him a hug. He still refused to drink any water.

We took him to the vet around 1:40 pm. He was so enthusiastically to go to see the vet. The vet we saw was the same one from last Friday. So he knew Pepper’s conditions. He gave two more injections to Pepper and prescript more antibiotic tablets. I asked him if he thought Pepper has Parvovirus or not. He said if Pepper has it he could have died already.

When we were on the way back home I sat in the back seat with Pepper. At one point Pepper stood up and tried to vomit. I put both my hands under his mouth and told HG to stop the car. It was too late when the car stopped, Pepper’s sick was all over me, not just my hands. It was yellow liquid. I had to clean up again while HG took Pepper out of the car for a little walk. It was so disgusting. I had to wash all my clothes especially my new coat immediately when we were home. I also had to clean the car. The vet said Pepper could have his dinner tonight with some rice and scrambled egg or chicken.

One Response to “Back to the vet…”

Yes, Parvo strikes very quickly. I was checking back to see how long you had posted that Pepper was sick. The beginning of December. That is over twenty days. Yours is the only blog that I am afraid to read each time I open it, because of Pepper. I hope the puppy gets better soon.
