Beetroots…

Beetroots

On Sunday, HG harvested some of our beetroots. Actually we will give all of them away to Dad because neither of us likes beetroots. You may wonder why we planted them. It was because the plants look really nice. It was a bit complicated to harvest beetroot. We twisted the leaves off about 2 inches above the root. This would keep them fresh longer and prevent them from bleeding. We used trowel to dig gently under the bulb and gently tease it away from the soil. If you can avoid damaging the root, they can be kept fresh for long time. We stored them in the box and kept them in the garage waiting for mum and dad to come back and take them.

HG and Taggie

At night when we were watching television in the lounge, HG called Taggie to come to him and she jumped up to his laps. She definitely loves HG now.
