Biscuit on the nose…

I trained Pepper new trick yesterday. Actually I tried to train him this trick since he was very young but he would not get it. I called trick as ‘Biscuit on the nose’. I put a biscuit on his nose while he was sitting and I told him to stay still. He would look at me and the biscuit on his nose. I waited for 30 seconds and then I said ‘Pepper, eat it’. He then tossed his head up so the biscuit would fell down on the floor and he went to eat it. Next step would be to make him eat the biscuit in the air.
I found out that the sticks/twigs in the wood were more important to Pepper than the treats. I could ask him to come to me every time with the stick I mean when there were just the two of us. Like I said in the earlier post that I used the stick to train SIT and STAY with him in the wood. I tried to reinforce it every time when we were in the wood to make this SIT and STAY get stronger and stronger. I hope we will pass his adolescent period with pleasure and not too much of a headache.
