Pepper at Christmas 2006

This Christmas we went to spend time with the oldies in Alva. We planned to stay only for 4 days but the house was almost empty with all the stuff we had to take, especially for Pepper. The car was so full with toys, presents and other things. Pepper had to share the boot with his stuff, so he could not stretch but he could not complain. HG told me to help him packing the car by staying in the lounge with Pepper. So I tried to see if there was any program I would like to record while we were away. Pepper was whining like crazy while we were waiting for HG to finish stuffing the car.

When we arrived in Alva, traditionally Pepper has to go across the road to pee before greeting grandma and granddad but he was too excited and did not really want to pee but he had to, so he did it just to please daddy and ran into the house as soon as he was released. Again I was told to stay with Pepper while HG and dad were empty the car. Don’t ask me why. :-P

On Sunday, Christmas Eve, the oldies went to the church; we took Pepper to the wood in Bridge of Allan called The mine wood. I did not really like to take Pepper to the park in Alva when it was very wet. It was a very nice walk up the hill. Pepper was running up and down the hill chasing after the Frisbee. We met 3-4 dogs up there but most of them were on the leash. Pepper was very good about coming back when other dogs were on the leashes. He was very happy with that walk and so were we.

On Monday, we took him up to Alva Glen in the morning. HG said it was traditional for Pepper because he went there on Christmas day last year. Pepper was a bit wet because he went down to drink some water from the glen. When we were at the top where Pepper and I had photos taken last year, we could not get into it because Pepper was too confident and we were afraid that he would fall down the cliff. So we did not have any photo at the glen this year. When we came back, it’s time for the gift opening. This year Pepper got quite a lot of presents. He got a new basket cushion from Auntie Fiona, Uncle Jim, Sophie and Daniel, a big box of toys and treats from us and a new leather collar from grandma and granddad. Pepper gave one Frisbee to granddad, so he could practice more. Pepper also gave one elephant stuff toy to grandma and he knew that she would give it back to him. Pepper loves his new basket cushion so much; he lay on it most of the time we were in Alva.

This year we had roast duck as Christmas dinner with some delicious stuffing but no Chipolata sausages because dad forgot. He spent time cooking most of the day. We had very nice starter which was red onion tartlets and salad and we had light Christmas pudding as our dessert.

On Tuesday, HG, dad and I took Pepper out for a walk at William Wallace monument. It was very nice walk. We met some tourists but because I had Frisbee and they did not have a dog, so Pepper did not really care about them as much. Actually he did not go to any of them at all. I did not have my boots with me, so we just walked him on the tarmac path, threw the Frisbee on the side and he went after it.
