Pepper goes to doggie daycare for the first time…

Today the house feels empty without Pepper. It was because Pepper went to Doggie daycare for a day. We arranged doggie daycare for Pepper during my friends visit at the end of this month for 4 days. So we can take them to places without worrying about Pepper. We thought we should let him try before my friends come to see if he will be alright or not. If he likes it we probably will let him go once or twice a month so he can enjoy doggie companions.

Doggie daycare is run by a woman called Joanna. She came to pick him up this morning at 9:00 am. Pepper was so excited to see her for the first time. He tried to get her attention but she ignored him. She finally spoke to him when he calmed down a bit. She put him on the leash and started walking toward the door, when he started to be ahead of her she stopped and pulled him back without saying anything to him. Then they finally reached the front door. Joanna needed to put her boots on with Pepper on the leash in one hand. I offered to hold Pepper for her but she refused. It took her a while before she could put her boots on. I told him that she could tell him to sit and stay and he would do it but she said she did not want to give him order. She wanted him to respect her, which he did. He finally sat and waited for her. He’s my boy. I am so proud of him.

After they left, I had a strange feeling. I think it might be the same feeling of the mother whose kid went to school for the first time. I do not worry about him as much because I am quite confident with how Joanna handles dogs but I really want to see how he would react with other dogs. I would like to know if other dogs like him or not. I hope he won’t be a pest to other dogs like he did with Taggie when he was young. Joanna said she will try to take some photos for me with her mobile phone.

Hey, I am involved in the Photo Friday challenges (www.photofriday.com) and came across this post about Aum. http://theindianphotographer.blogspot.com/2006/05/aum.html I guess that is what your blog name is in reference to? I love to read about and learn stuff like this. Glad to hear you are doing so well with Pepper.
