Pepper met Sophie and Daniel…

On Friday, HG’s sister (Fiona), her husband (Jim) and her kids (Sophie and Daniel) came to our house. Sophie was looking forward to seeing Pepper since Pepper was a small puppy. This was her first time to meet Pepper. When they arrived, HG took Pepper out to the back garden to pee because he would be too excited and could possibly wet the guests. All of the guests were escorted to the lounge while Pepper was in the dining room. I went to call Sophie to the dining room to see Pepper. The reason we kept Pepper in the dining room was because Daniel was not quite comfortable with dogs. Pepper was very good with Sophie. He tried to lick Sophie’s face which she did not like it that much but because she was giggling, so Pepper thought she like it, so he kept licking and licking. We told her to stand up, fold her arms, turned her back on Pepper, no eye contact and no giggling. It worked but while she turned her back to Pepper, her butt was about Pepper’s height, so Pepper nosed it and made her giggle again. It was so funny. Pepper settled very fast with Sophie because of her confidence. Daniel and Sophie bought toy and treat for Pepper from the pet shop in Haddington.
When they were arrived, it was raining. So when it stopped raining, we all went out to the football field, so Pepper and the kids could get more exercise. Daniel played football with his dad while Sophie played with Pepper and the Frisbees. Yes, there were two Frisbees. Pepper tried to get both Frisbees in his mouth at the same time, such a showoff boy. All the time we were in the football field, he did not bother about Daniel and his dad who played with the football not very far from us. We could not stay in the football field for a long time because it started raining. By the time we got home it was bucketing rain. HG, Sophie and I were in the garage tried to clean the muddy Pepper. Sophie was there because she was the one who played with Pepper and got him all muddy, especially on his chest when he tried to crawl when she told him to lie down in the football field.
In the lounge, with the door closed, Fiona, Jim and Daniel played Monopoly. Sophie played with Pepper in the dining room. Sophie tried to get into Pepper’s crate. She was small enough to be inside Pepper’s crate with Pepper. Pepper tried to lick her face when she was in his crate and she could not avoid. At one point Sophie tried to lock Pepper in his crate and went to get Daniel to come to say hello to Pepper. He came and sat in front of Pepper’s crate and waved. He asked Sophie to take photo of Pepper for him and then he went back to the lounge.
Then when it was Pepper dinner time, I asked Sophie to help me prepare Pepper food and fed him. Pepper was obedience to Sophie when she told him to show her his tricks before she let him eat.
After that Sophie played with Pepper more while we were waiting for our dinner. We had fish and chip that night. When we were having our dinner, Pepper was in his crate looking so pathetic. It snowed when we had our dinner but it was not cold enough to lie. Fiona, Jim and the kids left around 8:00 pm. We all were exhausted especially Pepper, he slept well that night.

Hi Sophie certainly had a good time with Pepper - good photos! Daniel was asking about Pepper when he was in Alva - did he jump up? was he big? - so we knew he was apprehensive. But we told him just to ignore Pepper until he had calmed down. Daniel is at his happiest when he is playing football. Glad it all went well. Pity about the weather though. See you soon, and Pepper too, and G.
