Pepper off the leash…

Pepper was so good last week. Last time I said I had problem walking him to the wood. On Tuesday I took him out after his second nap in the morning. I made sure that he was not hungry or thirsty before we left the house. When we were on the path to the wood, no car of course, he tried to resist me by sitting and pulling backward. I stopped and threw the leash. He stopped what he did and walked to me. He walked with me nicely for couple steps and then resisted me again. This time he tried to pull me back hard, I threw the leash and he went to the direction where he tried to pull me for a few steps then he realized that I was not holding the leash. He sat and looked back to me. I called his name and he ran to me. After that we had a nice walk on the leash to the football field. At the football field, I had to throw the leash twice and every time he would stop and came back to me when I called. It was very good.
In the evening, HG and I took him out to the football field again. This time we tried off the leash with him. We were about 100 meters apart and called him to come to each of us. He ran so fast but he did not jump to us at all. He could stop and sat for treats. HG did not have treat, so he got pet when he went to see HG and got some treats when he came to see me.
Yesterday we took him to the wood for a long walk. At one point I thought we should try to let him off the leash so he could sniff around as he wanted. He was so well behave. He did not ran away from us, he kept looking back to see us every so often and came back when we called. I did not expect to have him off the leash in the wood at his 12 weeks old. He made us proud.
