Pepper update…

Pepper, so far, is a very clever puppy. He made us proud most of the time. He likes to be under the dining table actually he likes to be under any table. He hiccups every day sometimes more than once a day. He likes to go upstairs. He likes ice cubes so much. When he heard the sound of the ice cube touched the glass and he would stop what he was doing and came to sit and stare at me.

About housebreaking, he has been very good. I could say he was housebroken probably around 10 weeks old. We hung his leash at the door handle at the back door and when he wanted to go to do his business he would go to the door and knock the leash against the door to make a noise. Before he could go out to the wood, we let him use the garden to eliminate. He used the grass for his #1 and the bit under the pine tree for his #2. In the morning once he got up we took him to the back garden to pee on the grass and then tried to pull him to his toilet. He always refused to go to his toilet and pulled us to go for a walk to the front of the house. Once we got to the front he would pull us back to his toilet and performed his #2. He has been going to the wood for his business since he was about 11 1/2weeks.

He learned quite a lot of tricks so far. He knows SIT, GIVE PAWS, DOWN, ROLL OVER, TURNAROUND, OFF, DROP IT, STAY and the most important thing is to COME when called. He does not like being by himself. When I let him off the leash in the wood, he would go ahead of me and then look back to see me. If I stopped or turned back he would run to me. When I called him, he would run to me and stop and sit in front of me waiting for a treat. He associates ‘COME’ with getting a treat.

In the morning after he had his breakfast, I always groom him with his brush. At night before his last drink, I always brush his teeth and no more food/treat after that.
